Steve & Patti Borda ~ Minnie & Maddie

~ Patti ~
Minnie is a tri colored border collie born August 6, 2006 full sister & litter mate to our red border Maddie.

Minnie or "Spinnie" or "wild child" as we sometimes call her has been full of energy since the day we brought her home at 8 weeks old,  she was chasing a big soccer ball around our yard and still has a true ball obsession to this day.

Minnie & I began our agility journey a little less than a year ago under the direction & encouragement of our great trainer Allyson Mitton.  Minnie & I had never had a strong bond but agility sure changed that "I LOVE IT".  I have found my newest and truest friend, don't get me wrong we have encountered many a frustrating time but those times are soon forgotten when I look and see the look on Minnie's face knowing she made me happy!!

I am looking forward to having many years to learn together and will continue our agility journey and I just know we will become an awesome team and as we continue to both learn from and with each other.

~ Steve ~
I have always had a great love for dogs and growing up I had many canine companions from purebred dobermans to home bred heinz 57's.  On August 6,  2006 the best dogs I would ever own were born in Collina,  N.B.  From the day we brought them home we had an interest in agility but we didn't know the first thing about it.

Approximately 1 & 1/2 years later we met Allyson Mitton (who is now our fantastic trainer) at the MQHA equine review where I was announcing and Patti was working.  After watching the "FAST" demonstration we were intrigued and proceeded to talk to Allyson about lessons,  she was very encouraging and in August of 2009 we started our agility journey.  Maddie and I have both developed a great love for agility and our bond has grown even stronger than it was before.  Mad is still always up for a good game of ball or a walk with her sister and her pack leaders.  We both look forward to our weekly lessons and trialing  (although I think I look forward to it more!)

During our runs at our first two trials Maddie was so stressed out that she would leave the ring,  sometimes right from the start line,  but after great support and encouragement from Allyson,  Minnie and the other "FAST" members Maddie got her first Q in our jumpers run at our third trial.  I'll tell you there's no other feeling like when you and your dog connect and have fun like that!  As the newest members of the FAST family we are excited to continue our agility journey.
