Byron and Gerry Bryden & Shadow, Scamp, Nitro & TJ

Pomdemonium - that's what it's called at the Bryden house. Byron and Gerry own four Pomeranians. They have always been a large breed family but that changed when Gerry decided that she wanted a small dog that she could take everywhere and so it began.

TJ is a 4½ pound bundle of love and energy. They then decided that he was in need of a lady friend and one year later Shadow was welcomed to their home.

At this point Byron wasn't sold on these little bundles of energy but he soon changed and as they say, the rest is history.

Scamp was pom number three and Byron acquired him quite by accident. A lady was driving by their house, noticed the two dogs outside, stopped and asked if they wanted hers - she was moving and couldn't take him. Finally there is Nitro our newest addition. A co-worker received an appeal to help find a home for a nine month old Pomeranian with behavioral problems and she knew that the family had poms - so Byron immediately drove to Antigonish and picked him up.

Gerry has always been interested in Agility and decided to give the little guys a try. They bought a couple of jumps, weave polls and chute, built a teeter and A-frame and the training began but she soon tired of the repetitive tasks and Byron took over and he was hooked! He now has about 15 pieces of equipment spread out over his yard and in the living room when the weather keeps him inside! He spends hours working each dog individually and then for fun runs them all at the same time. It is hilarious to watch the four dogs run up the teeter and wait for it to tip. When he has one dog on the course, the others are looking out the living room window barking and dancing impatiently waiting for their turn.

The next obvious step was to find a club to train the trainer and FAST was his choice. He has learned the front cross "dance" and participates at the fun days. This is a sport where it is mandatory to have fun, enjoy barking dogs and generally to have a good time - and that is precisely what they do.
