Russell and Allyson Mitton & Oreo, Hershey & Gwynn

This lively pack of Border Collies live in Sussex, NB with their Mum & Dad, Russell and Allyson Mitton. The oldest member of FAST is Oreo, and was the first Mitton Border Collie to appear on the scene almost 12 years ago. He was born in his mum's bedroom and has truly been the 'once in a lifetime dog'. Oreo has spent his life bringing joy to his family and all who know him, by helping to teach obedience and agility classes, doing pet therapy, visiting schools, doing demonstrations and competing in Agility.

He has even tried his paw at acting when he appeared in the Doggone Christmas Story as a Shepherd boy. Although he doesn't compete in agility with his mum any more, he is still very much active in the sport. His current job is working with the Junior Handlers in FAST. He is a skilled veteran of the sport, so therefore a great canine partner for the kids to work with as they develop their handling skills, and has even gone into competition with them, earning the Juniors their Q's and Titles.
Red & White Hershey stormed into the Mitton household like a whirlwind 5 years ago. He is the exact opposite of his brother! He was a difficult boy from the day he arrived and only got worse as time went on. He destroyed everything in site, the furniture, the carpet, the woodwork, toys, shoes and anything else he could get at. And he loved doing it! He hated dogs and people, especially children. He had no friends. For the first 2 years of his life he was almost unbearable.

Then he started Agility and his life began to change. Hershey, being a Border collie, needed a job to do and a strong leader to follow. Three years later, he has lots of friends; he competes and excels in Agility, performs in demonstrations, assists in teaching, and ironically played the part of the Angel Gabriel in the Christmas Story.

He is proof that there is good in everyone and anyone can change with love and guidance.

Little Gwynn is the newest member of the pack. She recently came as a 3 year old 'foster child' and instantly fit right into the family…she'd found her forever home. Although she is Hershey's full sister, the Mitton's weren't blessed with the 'attitude'.

She has begun Agility classes and being a Border Collie, loves to work. She has some catching up to do with training, but is eager to please her mum and wants to learn. She is a very tiny little girl, which gained her the role of the 'Littlest Angel' in the Christmas play.

In time she wants to become an ambassador and public educator for encouraging families to foster and adopt the animals in need and supporting rescue organizations.
