Rachel Waugh ~ Jazz and Beau

Rachel first got  “the agility bug”  when she ran her first Junior Handling run with Rachel and Jerry Hamilton’s Apollo.  Even though when Apollo got on the table he was taller than Rachel,  the ring was full of only smiles.      Her mother then decided that it was time for Rachel to get a dog that she could train for agility.   This dog soon became Rachel’s best friend that we now know as Angel Heart’s Snazzy Jazzy (Jazz).   He is a sable Shetland Sheepdog who was born on July 23rd of 2008 and,  came from the household of Janice Sutherland;  a breeder out of Moncton.

The first time the Waugh family went to see the puppies,  little  “Squeeky”  (name Janice had given him)  came to Rachel and fell asleep on her legs.   He had picked her.

They began their agility career in May of 2009 and, have not looked back since.   Rachel and Jazz have together earned their ADC,  SGDC,  AADC,  AGDC,  MADC and MJDC all in their first year of trialing in 2010 and,  with 34 Qualifying runs.   Rachel and Jazz also compete in Obedience and Rally-O.

Her mother Heather competes in Obedience and Rally-O with the family’s Conerstone’s Silver Star  (Beau).   He was born on July 8th of 2006,  and is a Rough Collie of blue merle color.   When Beau is not competing in Obedience and Rally-O trials with her mother,  Rachel also enjoys training Beau for agility.   Hopefully you will see them in the agility ring in 2011!
